2 Quick tips for uploading your CV onto Job Mail Mobile

So, you have your CV set up and you’re ready to upload it onto Job Mail, but you’re struggling to do this via your mobile phone. We realize that this process frustrates many of you, so we’d like to give you 2 quick tips today.

Make sure that your CV is in the right format: We realize that some of you have your CV’s in PDF format. Although this format is generally accepted by most recruiters / employers and the Job Mail mobile site the possibility exists that an error might occur when you’re uploading it to your profile. Even though we accept uploads of up to 5 Mb, chances are that uploading a PDF file of between 1 Mb and 5 Mb could be unsuccessful due to mobile connectivity issues.

PDF to Word Convert

Rather convert your PDF CV into Microsoft Word format. Visit your nearby internet cafe, or ask a friend who has internet access and use this free online PDF to Microsoft Word converter. If your CV is in an .ODT format, convert it to Microsoft Word Format as well. You can do this by saving the document as a Microsoft Word Document on the Free Word Processor program that you’re using (Libre Office or Open Office). CV’s in Microsoft Word are just generally easier to work with when you’re sending  your CV to employers / recruiters.

Copy the CV document or e-mail a copy of your CV to your mobile phone: So you have a copy of your CV on a PC somewhere, but you don’t have it on your cell phone? Make sure that you have a copy of it on your phone. If you have internet access, e-mail it the e-mail address that is set up on your phone and save the attachment, or if you have a data cable for your phone copy the document onto your phone’s memory. This will make things a lot easier when you’re uploading your CV to your Job Mail profile via mobile.

Mobile Phone in Hand

Some of you might be asking “Why should you upload your CV to my Job Mail profile?” Well, even though you have a profile, the fact remains that Employers want original CV’s when it comes to applications for positions that they list on our site. So if you’re serious about getting a new job, this is definitely something that you should do. If your CV is uploaded onto Job Mail, the recruiter will receive your application and a copy of your original CV when you apply for a job on the Job Mail website.

If you have been struggling with the Mobile CV upload process on Job Mail, feel free to e-mail our Webmaster via jobmaster@jobmail.co.za or phone him on 012-3423840 x2804.

Spread the word about these tips by sharing this article with your friends on Facebook and Twitter. Remember: You could be the reason that someone finds the job they’ve been looking for.

  14. Sphiwe says:

Hi Steven! You can start by making sure that you have an email account that you can access from your phone as well. Email your CV to your email address. View your CV and download it. It will be saved as an attachment to your phone’s memory – copy it to your SD memory if possible. From there you can apply for jobs using your phone and attach your CV at the same time. Hope you and others find this this helpful
