The Devil Wears Prada Movie Review (PG-13)
If you haven’t figured it out yet;every Friday Job Mail is reviewing movies that have Job Roles in them. This week we navigate our reviewing ships to the shores of Manhattan with The Devil Wears Prada.
The journey belts on the cliché of the super intern; findingAndrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) applying for a PA position at Runway Magazine. After a rigorous interview she is given the position under the mere hope of being different from the other girls that tried and failed. The editor –in-chief is non-other than Meryl Streep with screen name Miranda Priestly. Her nickname “Dragon Lady” stems from the editorial tyranny she pierces through the heels of fearful girls.
The ‘boss from hell’ is an understatement as her employees struggle to maintain her expectations. Andrea finds herself in a world wind of shock when she discovers how little she actually knows about the fashion industry. With a job “Millions would kill for” the struggles get tumultuously painstaking for Andrea, and she is faced with “fit in or die trying” decisions.
The Devil Wears Prada shows you the realistic challenges and the up’s and down’s faced with demanding jobs. Life lessons don’t always prepare you for these day to day situations, so rent the DVD and see what it really means to be a PA in the modern world. If you still think you have what it takes to be a PA and are looking for a PA job remember to click on the administration jobs category on Job Mail.
