According to Payscale, Network Engineers can expect to earn between R97,393 and R455,670 per annum. Senior positions offer more lucrative employment opportunities.

If you are interested in becoming a Network Engineer, there are plenty of ways that you can increase your chances of being hired. An IT degree is beneficial as it offers you an in-depth knowledge of the IT industry and increases your skills in this area. You can also get certifications for specific programmes such as Microsoft. Experience is valuable when you are applying for jobs. If you don’t have working experience, experience with home-based networks can count in your favour. Alternatively, look for entry-level positions to kick start your career. Having a Networking certification is also advantageous.
