How do I register my CV and profile?

On the Job Mail home page click on “Register your Free CV“.

Do I have to have an email address for me to register my CV?

Yes, this is important otherwise the advertiser / recruiter / employer has no way of contacting you online.

What do I do if I don’t have an email address?

You can register a FREE email account on one of these websites:

Why do I not get my welcome / verification email?

Please check your spam / junk folder as most web based email systems tend to pick up the email as spam / junk and it can be found in that folder. Should you still not receive it, please email and it will be forwarded to you.

Why can I not log in and then get the following message?

Oops, it seems your email address has not been verified. Please click on the ‘Verify your account email address’ link in the email Job Mail sent you after registering. To resend your registration email CLICK HERE. We apologise for the inconvenience.

This means your email address has not yet been verified and thus you will not be able to log in until it has been verified. Check your email for the verification mail. You can also resend the email by clicking on “Resend Registration email” on the same screen.

How do I apply for a Vacancy I am interested in?

As a registered user you will need to log in and then go to the ad details and click on apply. Your CV and cover letter will be sent to the employer.

As a non registered user, you need to register first, as it is a 2-in-1 process. On the ad details click on “Register” and complete your Job Mail CV registration. You will then be presented with the application part. Complete the subject line and cover letter. You will then be registered and your application will be sent to the employer / recruiter. Going forward you can log in and apply for other vacancies.

Does my CV get sent automatically to the advertiser together with my cover letter?

Yes, your uploaded CV and Job Mail generated CV gets sent automatically along with your cover letter once you have applied for a position.

Do I have to send a new cover letter every time I apply for a vacancy?

No, your cover letter that you completed when you registered your CV will be used.

How do I view my response from the employer on the site?

Log in as a Job Seeker and click on “My Jobs” and then click on “Responses.

Why do some Jobs in My Basket have an “Apply” button and others not?

Not all employers enter their email address in their ads, thus those ads will not have an “Apply” button. You will need to call the employer or fax your CV.

How do I update my CV?

Log in to your profile. You will see all the items on the left (e.g. Edit my Personal Profile, Edit my Latest EmploymentEdit my Position Wanted, Edit my Qualifications , Edit my Employment History , Edit my CV and References).

How do I upload a photo?

Go to Edit my Personal Profile, scroll down to Upload your picture. Click “Browse”, select the photo and click submit. Your photo will be moderated and appear after moderation.

How do I upload a CV document?

To upload your CV, visit this link on your PC. Click on “Choose File”, then point to where your CV is saved on your computer. You will see it inserts the file name next to “Choose File”. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click submit to submit the CV. Your web CV will now be saved and attached to your Job Mail CV when you apply.

How do I upload a Video?

If you are already registered and wish to upload a video introducing yourself to the employer. Log in and go to “Edit my Personal Details”. Click on “Upload your video” under “More about you”. Click on “Choose File”, point to where the video is stored on your PC. It can be in the following formats: .mov, .mp4, .avi, .mpg or .flv. The size limit is 10 Mb. For tips on what to do and what not to do when introducing yourself in the video, please check out our intro video.

How do I reset my password?

To receive your username and create a new password, go to this link, click on “Recover Password”. You will receive an email with a link to enter a new password. Visit that link, type in a new password (no longer than 10 characters) and click submit. You should be able to log in with your new password now.
