3. English Teacher

4. Archeologist

When you think about a job that takes you to strange places, then archeology springs to mind. Your job is to preserve artifacts from old civilizations and this will obviously take you to far flung regions of the world. Although a lot of your time will be spent analyzing artifacts in labs, you will also be introduced to rare languages and live in remote villages that most people will never see. If you love traveling jobs and don’t mind getting a bit dirty, then this is the career path for you.

5. Peace Corps volunteer

You won’t be making a lot of money doing this, but it will be very rewarding. You are however given access to health insurance, student loans and a nice bonus at the end of your service. If money is not an issue, then you might want to consider joining the Peace Corps. You will need to apply for this and provide proof on why you are the right choice. You will have to go through a lengthy application process, but if you get through this, you will travel the world and make a difference in people’s lives at the same time. 6. WWOOFer

This is another low pay/high reward job that almost anyone can do. WWOOF stands for Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms and your job will be to work as a helper on organic farms all over the world. You will work on various farms and plantations for a few hours a day in exchange for food and a roof over your head. The nice thing about these travelling jobs is you will be moving around lot. From banana farms in Ecuador to coffee plantations in Hawaii. The possibilities are endless.

7. Truck driver

If you hate the idea of working from an office cubicle for the rest of your life, then you might want to swap it out for a truck cabin. A Long haul trucking job will allow you to drive long distances by yourself. You will visit many out of the way towns and you will experience the country side like no one else can. You will need a commercial license for this one and nerves of steel as a lot of your driving will be done at night. If you like the open road and the smell of diesel, then this one is for you.

8. Oceanographer

If you like to travel and the ocean then there is no better career path for you than oceanography. You job will be to research and document the ocean and its movements. A large portion of your time will be spent on research vessels in remote parts of the world. You will spend months out at sea and this means you will visit many distant parts of the ocean. To be eligible for this job you will need to obtain a Diploma in Marine Science.

9. Roadie or techie

This is a dream job for some and a nightmare for many. The job of a Roadie is difficult but it does have its rewards. You get to travel across the world with some of the biggest names in music. You will go from gig to gig, making sure the band’s equipment is safe and functioning. You will probably start off by carrying lighting and sound equipment around and then move onto the more technical side like tuning and lighting setup. 10. Flight Attendant jobs

This is probably the most obvious job that allows one to travel the world. In South Africa, you will need a Matric certificate, be medically fit and a certain height for flight attendant jobs. The hours are a bit stressful and you have to work in confined spaces, but you get to visit hundreds of different cities around the world.
